Shower Weekend!

My blog has been on a bit of a hiatus. The last few weeks have been CRAZY! Little Saints Pre-K Graduation was a wonderful success. My Mom flew in from Dallas on Thursday night for my shower weekend! Saturday, Little Saints gave the most amazing shower and Sunday, Faith West gave me a beautiful shower! Both were decorated in Cooper's nursery colors! (I know this must have been a challenge because his nursery colors are not your typical baby boy colors.) Daniel and I are so thankful for all the blessings. We have such generous friends and an awesome church family.

The following is a small handfull of a few GOODIES given at the shower. More pics to come at a later date!

Diaper Tower!

Big stuff!

Cooper's Shoes!
Cooper's Razorback Gifts!

Monkey and Puppy Gifts!

Monogramed Robot Backpack.

Cooper was blessed with so many gifts! I wish I had pics of them all. I hope to add pics of my showers soon.

More Nursery Pics!

How I made Cooper's mobile.

  • You will need very heavy paper or card stock, double sided tape, brads (I got super cute ones that look like buttons from Hobby Lobby!) scissors, a pen and clear fishing line.

  • Next: cut your paper into a perfect square. Then cut each corner towards the center of the paper, a little more than half way to the center. (you might use a ruler to measure and mark the center of your paper) Then poke a small hole in the left corner of every cut section/triangle with your brad. After each left corner is poked through the brad poke it through the center and secure.

  • Now tie clear fishing line around the brad and add double sided tape. Stick another pinwheel on the back and hang from ceiling with push pins!

What Baby Cooper's view will be.

The nursery is still a work in progress. We are still waiting on the baby bedding, toy chest, chair and wall book rail. (and all the other stuff kids need)

For ALL Moms and Dads!

It's Sunday! Time for a new Children's Bible lesson.

This weeks lesson is pretty simple. With all this rain I started thinking maybe it's time to build an ark!
Read in your Beginner's Bible pages 26-33 or your Bible Genesis 6-9.
Before reading assign each family member an animal sound. Have everyone make their animal sound as you gather together for the story in your imaginary ark.

Conversation points:

  • Do you think Noah had to be brave when God asked him to build the ark? People thought he was crazy for building such a LARGE boat. They made fun of him. Did that stop Noah from obeying God?

  • What do you think it was like on the Ark? All those animals were probably loud and STINKY! That must have been quite a job taking care of all the animals. Noah trusted God to help him and his family.

  • God made Noah a promise to never flood the whole earth again. With all the storms and rain it's easy to forget that promise, but God gave us a reminder. The rainbow!

  • Even when people make fun of you and tease you it's still very important to trust and obey God... Just like Noah! The reward it great.

Attention all parents: This is a fabulous resource for all Mom's and Dad's with children of ANY AGE. Check it out!

Let me know what you think!

Head's up on next weeks lesson. Temper tantrums. (Think terrible two's) Your going to want to save this weeks empty milk jug or water jug for this lesson to help teach our children about self control.
